SKIC Peru: “We make critical infrastructure solutions for a sustainable world a reality”

Marco Guerrero, General Manager at Sidgo Koppers Peru, a construction company in the EPC, construction and large-scale assembly industry, introduces us to Sigdo Koppers Engineering and Construction, its vision and services.

What are the origins of the company and how long have you been in Peru?

We have been in Peru since 1998, known as SSK, with 20 years of experience in various lines of business such as mining, energy and industry. The change of brand from SSK to SKIC is part of a corporate reorganization of the SKIC Group in Peru, which seeks to capture the maximum business opportunities that arise in the Peruvian market in EPC, construction and industrial assembly. Also, to optimize cost synergies with other SK Group companies in the country, seeking better complementarity and transfer of experience and personnel among our subsidiaries in Colombia, Brazil and our head office in Chile.

SKIC is part of the Sigdo Koppers S.A. Group, an outstanding Chilean business group with global presence that provides services and products to mining and industry, through leading companies such as Enaex, SK Rental, Magotteaux, and Dessau; among other companies with leading positions in their respective sectors. Our parent company, Ingeniería y Construcción Sigdo Koppers S. A. (SKIC Chile), founded in 1960, is a leading company in the large-scale construction and assembly industry, currently developing EPC projects.

What services do you offer?

We are an EPC company for Mining, Energy, Infrastructure and Industrial projects in the region. We offer our clients an early involvement in the project with Engineering and Constructability. SKIC is now focusing on EPC projects, civil works, electromechanical assembly, piping and pipelines, LLTT and SSEE, among others.

What are your plans and what is your growth strategy?

Our growth strategy is focused on large critical infrastructure works, in which we are experts, looking for contributing to a sustainable world. Our objective is to develop EPC projects, join with our clients from the early engineering stage, building solid relationships for the future.

We have established strategic guidelines that encourage the use of the best ethical and business practices with our clients, suppliers, collaborators and the community, along with rigorous risk prevention policies, anti-corruption policies, quality, safety and environmental protection, which allow us to advance in the goal of sustainability that we have set for ourselves. SKIC prides itself for ensuring high standards of Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality during the development of all our activities, maintaining ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 9001:2015 Certification.
